In May 2024, a small team met at ETHBerlin04 and built an app that used Zupass to help attendees meet in person. It planted an idea: what if everyone in a big audience could join the conversation, without giving up their privacy?
That summer, with support from 0xPARC, we started building Meerkat: live Q&A where the best questions rise to the top, and attendees can stay anonymous thanks to zero-knowledge proofs.
We launched at Devcon in Bangkok. Since then, audiences have asked more than 10,000 questions with Meerkat at events around the world.
